Weekly Sales: Shoppers Drug Mart May 12th – 17th

Maybe you were wondering what happened last week. There wasn’t a weekly sales posts for Shoppers Drug Mart. My bad. I had a pretty rough week last week and just didn’t have it in me to type everything all up. Maybe it was the lack of Leanne in my life. Or maybe it was because work has been crappy lately. Who knows? I’m back with deals & savings for all of your pretty faces! The flyer is a wee bit different this week because of the up coming holiday on May 21st. Usually Shoppers flyers start on a Saturday and end on a Friday. This flyer starts on a Saturday and ends on a Thursday.

Stila In The Garden Tutorial Look #2

I wanted to use some of the more colourful…colours and this is what I came up with. I’ve really been enjoying this palette. I didn’t get a London Drugs flyer last week, hence why there was no post last week about their sales. I’m beginning to think that their sales are now bi-weekly, but I’m not 100% sure on that. Next time I pop into LD, I will ask the cashier what’s up and get the details for you. Deal? Deal. Let’s see what we can save money on this week!

Leanne’s FOTD 05.05.2012

Forgive my (what to me feels like a very long) absence. I was at the Calgary Comic Con last weekend (well technically we didn’t go to the Con, but we did go to the Star Trek: Next Gen cast reunion panel) and this week that just passed was used for coming down from the lack of sleep and stress associated with when I travel (let’s just say my body is never as tense as it is when I’m flying in an airplane). I’ll have a video on the way eventually, but in the meantime, let’s enjoy my face…or just tolerate it, whatever your pleasure.

Stephanie’s Fun Friday FOTD – April 27th (featuring Marcelle!)

For today’s FOTD I decided to play around with my new Marcelle Multi-Colour 3D Eye Shadow Cube. I’ve only used it once and so far I am very, very happy with it. I’m anxious to play around with some of the brighter colours. I made another post talking about my thoughts so far. It also has pictures of the palette and swatches. So be sure to check that out too!  Please excuse my not so pleasant skin. I’m suffering from a crapload of breakouts thanks to an allergy to dairy =(

Marcelle Multi-Colour 3D Eye Shadow Cube Swatches/Mini Review

Marcelle recently released 2 fun (but limited edition) products for the spring. An eye shadow and a face multi-colour 3D cube. Each retail for $16.95 and can be found at most places that Marcelle products are sold. They were apparently supposed to hit stores around April 9th. They hit my store on April 24th. I’m not sure how long these will be out for, so if you are interested in them you should probably scoop one up as soon as possible. I like the idea of the eye shadow cube palette. It comes with 9 eye shadows and for $16.95 I think it’s worth the price. I don’t feel ready to do a full review as I’ve only had this palette for a few days and I’ve only used it once. But so far I am impressed. Like most Marcelle eye shadows, these are decently pigmented and seem to almost mimic the Urban Decay eye shadow formula (they both seem to be very smooth and blend well). Pigmentation seems to vary from shadow to shadow. Some pack a great punch. While others need a little help. Something I keep overlooking is the fact that this palette comes with a little pull out drawer that hides a good sized mirror and 2 eye shadow applicators. This makes me think the palette would be perfect for travel. You get a great range of colours, a mirror and applicators should you need them.

I didn’t pick up the face palette that was also released. Why? Because it was set up exactly the same as the eye shadow palette. The idea of this being for eye shadows is great. But for blushes? Not so great. I swatched all the face shades, and while beautiful, it didn’t seem very practical. The little cubes of colour are small. Small is fine for eye shadows. But not for blushes. I kept wondering how I would use the colours with a normal, full size blush brush.

In the final conclusion of our epic Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo saga, I will show you the last 2 shades. A few weeks ago these guys were on sale for a shocking $3.99 each. All I was missing was 2 colours and then my collection was complete. So I figured I’d get them. For $3.99 each? How could I not?!
